To use these virtual 8-bit sound synthesizers and effects, you need a plugin host like FL Studio, Renoise or others... For info, SAVIhost is a good free standalone VST plugin host for Windows. Perfect to test VST plugins !

The Bitsmacker is a digital distortion swiss army knife for applying digital crust to your otherwise pristine audio signal. It Can simulate vintage samplers, classic video game systems, and other lo-fi paraphenalia. At extreme settings, it warps your audio with power you couldn't get from a stomp box or full stack.

This virtual synth produces old school electronical sounds and features a graphical wavetable editor. Chip32 has many midi control options, described in the readme. Quantum 64 is a harsh and aliased digital synth with single DCO and multimode filter. It is inspired by Commodore 64's SID sound chip but it definitely is no emulation. The two special ingredients that make the soul of Quantum 64 are the arpeggiator and the degrader/quantiser unit.

Using circuit modeling technology nearly all unique features of two versions (6581-8580) of SID chip among their famous flaws are accurately modeled. TAL-Bitcrusher is a common bitcrusher with some useful additions. There is a low- and highshelf EQ and a noise cross modulator included. Its maybe useful on drums, especially hats and for distorted leads.

TBK2 is efficient, intuitive and direct - and therefore very simple to use, providing great results with minimal effort, the interface and the options provided makes it easy to achieve a variety of sonic effects including, but not limited to downsampling, bitcrushing, clipping.

thrummaschine is a 3-band distortion effect with independant, LFO-driven filters. Make your bass, mid and high frequencies oscillate at different speeds, shapes and pan, with whatever flavour and level of distortion you dial in for each band.

TimeMachine is a VST plugin that provides accurate reproduction of the characteristic sound of vintage samplers, such as the Commodore 64, or older Akai samplers. The (virtual) sampling rate can be varied, as well as the number of bits used for digital representation. furthermore, aliasing distortion can be generated individually for AD and DA conversion.
